In general parlance, family typically refers to the parents and children living together whereas relatives refer to the members of the extended family including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

My Dearest Alaina & Family, I think this is you. I wanted to tell you I have the beautiful color frog picture you colored for me. It's framed and I have it in my kitchen. You signed it "To Edward from Alaina A." It's still hurts when I look at it. Sometimes I silently get mad at God, but always say I love you Alaina when I look at it. I cried terribly sometimes however I learned something today that helps me accept such hurt: "only when a persons dies from this world can they have eternity with God and Peace. So each time I look at your picture I will know you have that beautiful smile and giggle looking up at me from the red wagon your Mom pulled you in to visit me in the Volunteer office.
